JBS Racing is essentially the work of one man, Ben Ballard. Technical advice and machining services are provided by Ben’s farther John Ballard. Running the business and website and especially financing the extensive and expensive R&D are taken care of by Ben Ballard and the profits he makes in business.

Ben Ballard is a young engineer, only 25, with experience and abilities well beyond his years. He served a four year apprenticeship with Honeywell Aerospace on leaving school with
6 – A*’s and 2 – A’s and acquired real hands on experience of engineering not simply book learning.

After the apprenticeship Ben completed two higher level college courses finishing them in half the normal time, two years instead of four. Both mechanical and electronic final year projects were prize winning, one winning the prestigious Sony prize for electronics.

Ben’s particle and very wide ranging knowledge have been brought to bare on the development of the Husaberg engine for one of the most demanding motorsports in existence, Sidecarcross. After three years of development British Champion Stuart Brown is riding the engine to victory after victory this season. The development has only just begun………………………

While Sidecar engines are Ben’s love something has to pay the bills so Ben also does work for aerospace and oil companies on actuator development for experimental and development aircraft and well tooling and has an interest in just about everything from poetry to food to rocket engines, which he also makes!
